Children's Pastor - Brandon Gray

Wow, my wife, Shelley and I are so excited about ministering to the kids at Rose Heights.  We both know that God steered us here and prepared us for this special call.  I first noticed my wife at church when she sat in front of me and threw her beautiful blonde hair over the back of the pew.  After many flowers and a lot of coaxing I finally convinced her that she was the lady for me.  We married September 18, 1993.  That's right, I still remember.  She has been my greatest support and sounding board and I truly couldn't imagine life without her.  Within the next few years we had a son, Brycen who couldn't make me more proud and a then a daughter, Sadi who has me completely wrapped.  Don't tell her, I'm hoping she hasn't picked up on this fact yet.  Either way, family has, and always will be, my first priority.  I love them very much.

I surrendered my life to Christ at the ripe ol' age of 7 and have always loved the Lord.  I became the Youth Pastor of a small church in South East Texas at the age of 15  which made it a little odd having to get permission from my parents to plan the activities and even more odd not being able to drive myself there, but God made a way and I was willing.  Through the years, God has prepared me in many ministries such as, Singles pastor, Bible teacher in our local Christian school, Regional Chaplain for Shepherd Staff Ministries and Senior Pastor of the Family Worship Center in Beaumont, Texas and much more.  While God was preparing me with ministry opportunities, I obtained a Doctorate of Theology from Kingsway Theological Seminary.  Although the preparation and education was necessary what drives me is a passion to serve the Lord, especially his children.

As I said earlier, I'm excited and honored to be a part of what God has planned for Rose Heights.  The Pastor and heart of the church has a real focus on the kids and of course, to a Children's Pastor like myself, there is nothing more important.  Since childhood is the time in life when we are most impressionable I intend to use every resource we have to teach our children Christ-like character and present them with stories of the Bible in a way they can understand and won't soon forget, we're talking fun.  I believe children's church should be the most exciting, fun-filled and challenging time of the week to a child.  I know it is for me and all the wonderful workers that help Sunday after Sunday.  For everyone involved, it's a full blown production.  Once your children have been a part, you won't have a problem getting them out of bed on Sundays.  I've been told real stories of kids waking their parents up to bring them to church and even asking to plan a vacation around the children's activities.  That's a problem I think every parent would like to have.  I invite you to check us out anytime and see for yourself that Rose Heights really does put "Kids First".
