BIBLE READING

JOIN US A WE COMMIT TO READ
‘THE WORD’ IN 2024

We will continue our pursuit to grow in Christ as we read through the Bible. This year we will read through the Life Journal reading plan. By reading the Scriptures for 20 minutes each day, we’ll read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice within the year. We strongly encourage you to journal for 20 minutes, as the Holy Spirit reveals the Word of God to you. Utilize the SOAP (see below) method as a tool.

Let’s set our hearts to study, practice and teach the Word of God in 2024.
(Ezra 7:10)

SOAP

We recommend using the SOAP personal daily devotional method, which stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer.

As you engage in this practice, consider jotting down your thoughts in a journal. This journaling can help you remember the blessings and important lessons that come your way, ensuring you don’t miss out on valuable experiences and wisdom.

SCRIPTURE

Read a passage in the Bible to understand what God wants to speak to you. Pick a verse that stands out to you and write it in your journal.

OBSERVATION

What is God saying in this Scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you and explain Jesus’ message in your own words in your journal.

APPLICATION

Make it personal and think about how these verses relate to your life now. Write about how they can apply to you today.

PRAYER

Keep it simple. Ask God to help you use this Scripture or understand what He’s trying to say. Remember, prayer is a conversation, so listen to what God might be saying and write about it in your journal.
